| Back at the lake level. Carson Peak in the setting sun, but rain is not far away. A violent storm with thunder and lightning will begin in less than 15 minutes, and last for almost two hours. | |
| Rain continued all night, and during a better part of the next day. It was no fun to pack everything under the rain. It took us about four hours, under a relentless rain, to reach our cars at the trail head. |  |
