In addition, Stanford is a Charter member of the not-for-profit Internet2, an advanced networking consortium comprising several hundred U.S. universities in cooperation with government agencies, laboratories and other institutions of higher learning as well as over 50 international partner organizations. Members have access to a unique nationwide high-performance network infrastructure that removes boundaries of today's Internet. Internet2 actively supports our community in developing and deploying advanced network applications and technology.
