USAGE GUIDELINES FOR DOWNLOADING DATA

Those considering downloading data for redistribution should obtain an opinion from legal counsel for any use planned for the author-generated abstracts in the HighWire Press® metadata repository to ensure compliance with intellectual property laws. HighWire Press cannot provide advice about copyright issues.

Most material in the HighWire metadata repository is from copyrighted publications of the respective copyright claimants. Users of the HighWire metadata repository are solely responsible for compliance with any copyright restrictions and are referred to the publication data appearing in the bibliographic citations, as well as to the copyright notices appearing in the original publications, all of which are hereby incorporated by reference. Those who search HighWire databases may download for personal use and may provide others with a single copy of downloaded data.

Additional details:

• The data in HighWire Current will be identical to the data provided to PubMed.
• Data will be posted to the HighWire Current FTP repository immediately after an issue is published.
• Data will be removed from the repository after 30 days of availability.
• HighWire Current users can locate new content by date (search for all new content since hh:mm::ss mm/dd/yyyy), or they can sign up for eTOCs to be notified of file availability.
• In the event of missing or erroneous data, corrections must come from the online system; changes to files in the ftp directory will not be made directly.
• Very limited support will be available to users of HighWire Current. We expect that users of the FTP directory service will be experienced in using FTP tools.
