Graphics Viewing Software -- Windows

Netscape and Internet Explorer can be used to view figures, but graphics viewer helper applications offer options for viewing figures that are not offered by browsers. The procedures below describe how to obtain a graphics viewer and how to configure Netscape to use it to open figures.

Obtain LViewPro for Windows

Go to http://www.lview.com and follow their download instructions. Important: Make a note of where you install LView Pro on your computer. You will need this information in a subsequent step.

Configure Netscape for LViewPro

  1. Go to Edit/Preferences/Navigator/Applications

Scroll through the list of Descriptions until you find JPEG Image. Click once to highlight that line.

  2. Click the Edit button. Locate the LViewPro application by clicking on the Browse button in the lower right-hand corner of the dialog box.

Go to the directory where you installed LView Pro and click once on the application file that ends in .exe and click OK. Make sure the radio button labeled Application is selected.

Click OK to exit the Preferences dialog box.
