Practical Neurology is available online at
Practical Neurology aims to provide practising neurologists with a digest of the current research, practice and thinking in neurology. Included in the journal are: reviews of literature concerned with the aetiology, pathophysiology, presentation, prognosis, investigation and treatment of neurological disorders; examinations of rare conditions; debates concerning current neurological dilemmas; discussions of practical techniques; and personal experiences. Papers are rigorously edited by a strong international editorial team to present the working neurologist with an easily-accessible gateway of up-to-date information. It complements BMJ PG's peer review title Journal of Neurology Neurosurgery and Psychiatry (JNNP).
Practical Neurology Online contains the full content of each issue of the journal, in PDF format, beginning with the October 2001 issue (Volume 1, Issue 1). The full text is searchable by keyword.
Information about the journal's content, access and subscription policies can be found in tabular form here
Each issue will be placed online approximately on the date it is mailed to subscribers; therefore the online site will be available prior to receipt of your paper copy. Online readers may want to sign up for the eTOC (electronic Table of Contents) service, which will deliver each new issue's table of contents via email. The web site also provides access to information about the journal (such as Instructions to Authors, the Editorial Board, and subscription information).
Practical Neurology content through December 2005 is freely available. Additional issues will become free one year after publication. Access to current content will be available to all personal subscribers and for institutions with a site licence to JNNP. All other access (e.g., eTOCs, searching, Instructions to Authors) will remain freely available. Pay-per-view access will be offered as well.
We would appreciate comments, critiques, questions, or suggestions from you; these can be sent via the Feedback link found on all pages of the site. Feedback from readers will help us decide what new features would be most valuable for the site and how well it is working for its readers.
The site is being produced in conjunction with Stanford University's HighWire Press, which also works with other medical and research journals, including these frequently-cited journals: BMJ, JNNP, Neurology, Archives of Neurology, and the New England Journal of Medicine.
